Kimberly Mila Nelson is a writer, outdoor cat, pop culture nerd, and karaoke enthusiast who lives in Chicago, Illinois. She studied theatre (performance and writing) at Columbia College Chicago and comedy writing at The Second City Training Center. Kim writes speculative fiction, road trip travelogues, and essays obsessing over geekery of all kinds, aiming to blend her love of nature and wildlife with the escape element of galaxies far, far away.

Kim finds inspiration in music, pop culture, ghost stories, road trips, comic book superheroes, ancient mythology, wild animals, woodland creatures, and karaoke bars. She is currently working on an essay collection about growing up as a mixed race/second generation Filipino American pop culture nerd in the Midwest.
